Grapefruit - Discografia.

Grapefruit foi uma banda de rock britânica formada em Londres no final dos anos 60. Em 1967, Terry Doran, gerente da Apple, a editora de música dos Beatles, contratou o cantor e baixista George Alexander, irmão de George, do Easybeats, Malcolm e Angus Young do AC/DC.

No mesmo ano, Doran contratou John Perry e seus colegas de banda Geoff e Pete Swettenham. Doran juntou os quatro e formou o Grapefruit, nome sugerido por John Lennon. Em 1968 estrearam com o álbum "Around Grapefruit". 

 

Em 1969 lançaram "Deep Water", segundo e último álbum. O som do grupo é uma mistura de rock, pop e música psicodélica com barroco. Mesmo com muita badalação midiática e o apadrinhamento dos Beatles o Grapefruit não decolou.

Em 1970, a banda acabou, mas ainda foram lançadas duas coletâneas, Around The BBC (2007) & Yesterday's Sunshine - The Complete 1967-1968 London Sessions (2016). Texto: Bandas de rock relíquias.
